Row 19 (Total Recruitment of Primary School teachers to reach UPE by 2015): Recruitment required to address three needs: 1. UPE-related attrition. 2. To fill new teacher positions created to reach UPE. 3. To maintain current teacher stock based on 5% attrition.
Percentages of children in school are represented by Gross Enrolment Ratios (GER) and Net Enrolment Ratios (NER). GER is the number of pupils enrolled in a given level of education regardless of age expressed as a percentage of the population in the theoretical age group for that level of education. NER is the number of pupils in the theoretical age group who are enrolled expressed as a percentage of the same population. Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) can exceed 100% due to the inclusion of over-aged and under-aged pupils/students because of early or late entrants, and grade repetition.
