Rod Tyrer concluded his secondment with COL at the end of March 2007 and has returned to the British Department for International Development (DFID).

Rod Tyrer joined COL in March 2003, on a two-year secondment from the British Department for International Development (DFID), London, taking on responsibility for assisting in the implementation of a Results-Based Management (RBM) framework for the organisation. In September 2004, his job title and function was changed from Special Adviser, Strategy, Evaluation and Monitoring to Programme Director.

His substantive position with DFID is as Senior Education Adviser. He has been with DFID for 3.5 years and is a Strategic Planner who worked in the UK Higher Education system for 10 years and with the Papua New Guinea Government, Department of Police, based in Port Morseby, for four years as Adviser, Corporate Planning.

Mr. Tyrer is a trained teacher, B.Ed. Hons (Lancaster) and M.A. (London), who has taught at the secondary and higher education levels.
