Learning Object Repository

Online databases provide support to Commonwealth countries by providing learning content free of charge. Institutions or governments can use these repositories to access a range of free learning content.

A number of online databases of learning content - or Learning Object Repositories (LORs) - have been created around the world. To find content, however, can be a lengthy process. COL supports educators by indexing all the content it finds into an online service called the COL Knowledge Finder. Within the knowledge finder are a range of specialised databases of content to support educators and learners, this particular one focussing on free learning content. Please use the link to the right to access this service.

Whether you are developing content to share with others or using content that others have shared with you, it is important that you understand the legal issues associated with these copyright contracts. COL has worked in this area and provides guidelines for learners, educators, administrators and policy makers on our copyright page: www.col.org/copyright.
