Plenary panel - "The Interconnected Worlds of Technological, Educational and Social Change"
PURPOSE
The conference is for leading educators and technology professionals to identify methods in which technology can enhance all forms of education and training.
Through keynote speakers, roundtable discussions lead by experts, and hands-on demonstrations, participants will have the opportunity to acquire and exchange information and knowledge about various communications and information technologies and their uses, both in the classroom and for the delivery of open and distance learning.
FOCUS
The programme will focus on the use of communications and information technologies and their potential to enhance learning experiences through helping students become active participants in the educational process.
The soon-to-be completed feasibility study on the use of public broadcasting as an effective means of addressing educational and training priorities in the Caribbean region will also be presented at the conference.

TECHNOLOGY EXHIBITIONS
This will be the place to see both the proven and the latest in technology-enhanced learning. Demonstrations and exhibits will provide an increased awareness about communications and information technologies and their possibilities in terms of increasing the scope and quality of educational experiences.
These technology exhibitions will provide an opportunity for hardware suppliers, communications service providers, broadcasters and producers of educational materials to demonstrate their latest innovations and services to those in positions to affect the direction of communication and education policies and expenditures.
If you are interested in display space, please contact the Conference Secretariat by completing the Exhibitor Information and Application Form prior to August 15th. Booths are available on a "first come, first served" basis.
The exhibit hours will be 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., November 25th and 26th.
Immediately prior to the conference, COL is convening a regional consultation meeting on "Education and training: using technology for the enhancement of learning in agriculture in the Caribbean." It will take place from 23 to 24 November and findings will presented at TEL-isphere 99.
