How We Do It
Development
COLeLIO's course development philosophy lines up with the ADDIE Model of instructional design which involves five key phases of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation http://www.learning-theories.com/addie-model.html Such a model is cyclical in nature as evaluation findings and outcomes will be fed back into further re-design and re-development of the courses.
Delivery
COLeLIO's course delivery model is best depicted as a three-legged stool - an analogy used by COL's President, Sir John Daniel. For course delivery to fit the purpose of learning and development, it needs to sit on three pillars, namely materials, learner support and logistics. Carefully designed and tested instructional materials, well-rounded care and counselling for learners and well planned and executed logistics ensure the smooth running of courses to engage and motivate adult learners.
Business Model
The business models for COL eLIO course development and delivery are characterised by:
- A strong team approach
- Division of labour and specialisation
- Two-thirds of the per capita fee goes to learner services
