Present Triennium 2009-2012
Developed a new eLearning course in National Debt Recording and Management for the Commonwealth Secretariat. CSDRMS eLearning empowers debt practitioners based in Ministries of Finance or Central Banks in the Commonwealth for effective and accurate recording and reporting of national debt.
Piloted and delivered CSDRMS eLearning for 59 learners in 24 Commonwealth countries via the MOODLE learning management system (LMS).
Added six debt specialists to the COL cadre of trained tutors.
Modernised the look and feel of Writing Effectively for the World Health Organization (WE for WHO) eLearning and added a new section on Proposal Writing.
Won through open tendering the delivery of the Operational Data Management Programme (ODMLP) for United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Cohort 4.
Delivered the ODMLP 3 to 64 English and French learners based in 40 countries.
Increased the team of ODMLP e-coaches from four (English) to eight (four English and four French).
Renewed the delivery of the customised Writing Effectively Online course to about 2,500 learners with eight international organisations.
Triennium 2006-2009
Established the eLearning with International Organisations Initiative at COL to respond to international organisations' needs for timely and quality capacity enhancement of its global workforce.
Established a team of three (the Learning Manager, Course Coordinator and Programme Assistant) to deliver the eLIO initiative.
Consolidated a cadre of 33 communication specialists to support learners enrolled in the Writing Effectively eLearning series.
Customised the Report Writing and Writing E-mails, Memos and Letters online writing programmes for the World Bank.
Adapted the World Bank Online Writing Programmes for the Inter-American Development Bank.
Developed through customisation the Writing Audit Reports for OIOS for internal auditors based in the Office of Internal Oversight Services, United Nations. The course is recognised for 40 hours of continuing and professional education by the Institute of Internal Auditors.
Customised the Writing Effectively for UNICEF, India Country Office version.
Adapted the Writing Effectively for UNICEF, India Country Office for the UNICEF, Bangladesh Office.
Renewed the delivery of the customised Writing Effectively Online course to about 1,050 learners with five international organisations:
UNHCR, ILO, IFRC, WHO, and UNAIDS.
Invited by the UNHCR to pilot the Operational Data Management Programme (ODMLP) to 30 learners
Prior to 2006
Created through customisation the first Writing Effectively for UNHCR distance learning course in 2000. The print-based course in both English and French were developed in 12 months. The course is supported by one-on-one tutoring.
Received two Awards of Excellence for outstanding distance learning materials presented by the Open Distance Learning Association of Australia (ODLAA) and the then Canadian Association for Distance Education (CADE), now the Canadian Network for Innovation in Education (CNIE), in 2001 and 2003 respectively.
Digitised Writing Effectively for UNHCR into Writing Effectively for WHO and UNAIDS through customisation.
Adapted a print-based version of the Writing Effectively for the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC)
Achieved the highest completion rate of 98% in the WE for UNHCR cohort12
Adapted a digital version of the Writing Effectively for the International Labour Organization (ILO).
Delivered the Writing Effectively series to about 2,000 learners For the following organisations: UNHCR WHO UNAIDS ILO IFRC
Developed the Reading Effectively self-directed online learning course to complement the Writing Effectively series.
