Regional Quality Assurance Initiatives  

CANQATE, The Caribbean Area Network for Quality Assurance in Tertiary Education was established in 2004 as a sub-network of the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE).

Europe

ENQA , the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education, disseminates information, experiences and good practices in the field of quality assurance (QA) in higher education to European QA agencies, public authorities and higher education institutions. ENQA initiates and coordinates transnational quality assurance projects, which aim to disseminate information at the European level and promote the establishment of the quality assurance framework of the European Higher Education Area. In 2009 it published the 3rd edition of Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area.

AfriQan, the African Quality Assurance Network has been set up to provide assistance to institutions concerned with Quality Assurance in higher education in Africa. The network is committed to the enhancement of the quality of higher education and also with collaboration with similar organizations on other continents. 

The Network has been set up in connection with the Association of African Universities (AAU) and the Global Initiative for Quality Assurance Capacity (GIQAC).

Asia

Asia Pacific Quality Network is a regional association of quality assurance agencies with a mission to improve the quality of education provision in one of the fastest growing regions in the world. The site hosts a virtual library, with links to articles such as: Distance Education Course: “External Quality Assurance: Options for Higher Education Managers”
