Reading Time: 3 min read

Overview:

Education is always designed. How deliberate are we? The activity of teaching and learning takes place in many ways. We often use simplistic categories to describe modes of teaching and learning – blended, distance, in-classroom and online. But how helpful are these terms when describing and designing educational systems? What are the factors that really count and help bring deliberateness to teaching and learning modes? Are we able to adequately describe the differences in open and distance learning (ODL) using a better framework for terminology?

This webinar will explore some modes of teaching and learning while outlining a set of possibilities to assist educators in better describing their activities. The proposed modes will also spur thinking as to how new or variant modes might be shaped so that teaching and learning systems can be better designed and compared.
