The Commonwealth of Learning (COL) announces the launch of two new AgMOOC online courses – one on value engineering in agriculture and another on the treatment of parasitic diseases in livestock and poultry.

Value engineering is the study of cost optimisation techniques in manufacturing. As more machinery gets deployed in food production, value engineering has acquired significance in teaching agricultural sciences and engineering. This course is a pioneer on this topic.

As nations attempt to intensify animal and poultry production to overcome challenges of food security, parasitic diseases are on the rise. This development can be a serious threat to food production because it can increase animal and poultry mortality. Due to this risk, veterinarians and allied personnel need to update their knowledge of parasitic diseases. COL is pleased to collaborate with the Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS), India, in offering this AgMOOC.

The courses are open and free of charge and will commence on 19 December 2023. There are no prerequisites.
