The Commonwealth of Learning’s (COL) Advanced Cybersecurity Training for Teachers (ACTT) course is open for registration. It will commence on 24 June 2024 and run until 19 July 2024.

Participants are required to have completed the introductory Cybersecurity Training for Teachers (CTT) course. Alternatively, they should have completed a similar course or possess a relevant background in the subject.

Over four weeks, participants will gain practical knowledge about various attack vectors that cybercriminals can exploit on websites, mobile devices, and other platforms commonly used for digital learning. They will also learn how to protect data from such attacks and use emerging technologies safely, equipping them with the skills to ensure a secure digital learning environment.

A one-hour webinar will be held each week, during which participants will interact with experienced cybersecurity and digital learning practitioners.

This is the fourth offering of the ACTT course, with previous offers taking place between 2021 and 2023. The previous offers attracted a total enrolment of 6,056 participants from 98 countries.

Dr Betty Ogange, COL’s Education Specialist: Teacher Education, commented, “The fourth offering of the ACTT course has been updated to upskill educators in areas of data security, data privacy and emerging technologies, to be able to provide an improved and safe learning experience while teaching with technology.”

Duration: 4 Weeks

Schedule: 24 June – 19 July 2024
