COL is supporting the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) to develop attributes of employability, which can enhance a graduate’s productivity in the workplace and provide benefits for Nigeria’s economy.

A recent workshop hosted by the university focused on the concept of employability and familiarised 60 participants with methodologies for measuring NOUN’s progress. It mapped out key competencies and skills that the university should impart to students and set the foundations for staff to conduct institutional employability audits. The key workshop outcome was the establishment of an Employability Task Force to develop an institutional framework for NOUN.

“The employability framework will help NOUN produce graduates with competency-based educational experiences that will increase their chances of getting employment after graduation,” noted Professor Jane-Frances Agbu, COL Adviser: Higher Education.
