COL is inviting teachers, teacher educators and other education stakeholders to a free webinar on 22 June 2023 at 8 am Pacific Time in North America.

This webinar will examine the transformative potential of AI tools such as ChatGPT (Generative Pretrained Transformer) in the context of teaching and teacher training, especially in developing country contexts.

Webinar presenters 

The presenters for this webinar possess an array of expertise in digital learning, ICT in development, teacher education and the application of AI in education, among others. All are involved in research, teaching and teacher training in different developing country contexts. The experts include:

  • Dr V Balaji, Vice President of COL.
  • Professor Freda Wolfenden, Professor of Education and International Development at the Open University, UK.
  • Dr Bimali Indrarathne, Associate Professor in Applied Linguistics at the University of York, UK
  • Dr Paul Birevu Muyinda, Associate Professor of Open, Distance and eLearning at Makerere University, Uganda.

The webinar will be moderated by Dr Betty Ogange, Education Specialist: Teacher Education.
