New issue of Journal of Learning for Development released

A new issue (Vol. 5, No. 2) of the Journal of Learning for Development (JL4D) has just been released. It covers a wide range of topics related to open and distance learning and the adoption of open educational resources. Two special features titled ‘Learning for Development in the Context of South Africa: Considerations for Open Education resources in Improving Higher Education Outcomes’ by Professor Narend Baijnath (COL Board Member) and ‘Education for Development: from distance to open education’ by Professor Alan Tait (Emeritus Editor of JL4D ) are published in this issue.

Among the articles in this issue are:

  • Open and Distance eLearning in Asia: Country Initiatives and Institutional Cooperation for the Transformation of Higher Education in the Region
  • Implementing a Blended/Online Learning Policy on a Face-to-Face Campus: Perspectives of Administrators and Implications for Change
  • Challenges of Adopting Open Educational Resources (OER) in Kenyan Secondary Schools: The Case of Open Resources for English Language Teaching (ORELT)
  • A Critical Review of eLearning Research Trends in Tanzania

An editorial titled ‘Open Education, Open Educational Practice and the concept of Openness: issues and challenges,’ which provides an overview to the issue, and a book review, ‘Adoption and Impact of OER in the Global South,’ are also included.
