Makerere University and The Agricultural Innovation System Brokerage Association (AGINSBA) conducted a survey with the support of COL to study the influence of L3F on empowerment. The comparative study of a L3F village with non L3F village, based on the Empowerment Index developed by COL, shows that shows that L3F participants had a significantly higher average empowerment index score than non-L3F participants. In addition, when looking at empowerment in terms of gender, it was found that L3F women had empowerment index scores that were higher than the males in non-L3F village.
