Training digital education leaders in Bangladesh using COL platform

COL has been supporting the Centre for International Education and Development (CINED) of Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM), Bangladesh to implement the Commonwealth Digital Education Leadership Training in Action (C-DELTA).

A recent training of trainers’ (TOT) workshop built digital skills of 30 teachers from both government and non-government colleges and teacher training centres to use the C-DELTA platform. This was a second cohort of trainers to benefit from the TOT.

The workshop was inaugurated by Mr. Jahirul Alam, Deputy Director (Training) of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, Ministry of Education, who noted the country’s progress in the information technology sector and said that C-DELTA will help create digital education leaders in Bangladesh.

In his opening speech, Dr S.M. Khalilur Rahman, DAM General Secretary, spoke about the importance of ICT in education for DAM and praised its collaboration with COL.

C-DELTA is currently being implemented in nine countries in the Commonwealth, with over 5,800 learners using the platform.

Dr Sanjaya Mishra, COL’s Education Specialist: eLearning said: “C-DELTA enjoys a huge success among teachers and students in Bangladesh. With this second cohort of trainers, we are expecting another 150 teachers to be trained. This will contribute to a total of 1,800 students boosting their digital education skills.”
