Collaboration with the Nurses and Midwives Councils in small African countries and the WCEA

COL has partnered with the Nurses and Midwives Council of Botswana (NMB), Eswatini Nurses Council (ENC) and Seychelles Nurses and Midwives Council (SNMC) to provide online, context-specific continuing professional development modules to nurses and midwives. The online learning platform is available through the World Continuing Education Alliance (WCEA). This access enables nurses and midwives to gain extra skills and higher levels of competencies thereby improving the quality of health services delivered to patients in their countries.

In entering into an agreement to fund the participation of nurses and midwives in the WCEA online continuing professional education programme, COL aims to facilitate over 12,500 nurses and midwives by enabling easy access to Continuous Professional Development (CPD), strengthen nursing and midwifery competencies and promoting the delivery of better health care to patients in Botswana, Eswatini and Seychelles.

The WCEA Online Platform also allows regulatory bodies to monitor and audit all CPD activity online.
