Discussion Series: Implementing open schooling effectively

Before the pandemic, some 300 million children of school-going age were out of school. As schools began to re-open, it became clear that not all children were returning to school, so the number of out-of-school children has begun to increase. Provision of open schooling can be a way to address this challenge.

The discussion series, and the publication on which it is based, provides insight into the need for, nature of and possible ways to implement open schooling effectively. It will be of interest both to education system planners as well as teachers grappling with the challenges of remote teaching.
