Webinar: Quality assurance and evaluation of open educational resources for African contexts

The Commonwealth of Learning’s OER Practices in West Africa webinar series promotes knowledge sharing, capacity building and collaboration to advance the adoption, development and use of open educational resources (OER) across the region. 

On 19 October, the fourth session in the series will bring practitioners together to share experiences and practical approaches for strengthening quality assurance of OER in the West African context. Participants will explore key principles of OER quality, approaches to adapting resources while maintaining academic standards and open licensing requirements, and ways to strengthen professional learning and support sustainable OER practices.

Presenter Profile

Dr Adetoun A. Oyelude, FNLA, CLN, is the University Librarian at Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa, Ondo State, Nigeria. She previously served as Deputy University Librarian at the University of Ibadan, where she also taught part-time for many years in the Department of Library, Archival and Information Studies. She is a member of the Nigerian Library Association, American Library Association and International Literacy Association, and a Fellow of the International Association for Social Science Information Services and Technology (IASSIST). She has been a Fellow of the Nigerian Library Association since 2023 and a Chartered Librarian of Nigeria since 2005.

With 30 years of experience in librarianship, Dr Oyelude’s research interests include library administration, cataloguing, gender studies, Indigenous knowledge preservation and reading research. Her work has been published widely in Nigeria and internationally.
