Reading Time: 2 min read

The islands of St Kitts & Nevis form a small state of the Commonwealth in the Caribbean. With 261 square kilometres of territory, and roughly 50,000 inhabitants, it is the smallest sovereign state in the Western Hemisphere, in both area and population, as well as the world’s smallest sovereign federation (World Bank, 2022).

COL’s work in St. Kitts and Nevis is primarily in the areas of higher education through the Virtual University for Small States of the Commonwealth (VUSSC) network, technology-enabled learning, and skills for work. Learners from St. Kitts and Nevis are also participating in COL’s free, open online courses and benefitting from other available resources.
