Dean Pogas joined the Commonwealth of Learning (COL) in June 2025 as the Director of Strategic Engagement. He brings over a decade of leadership experience in strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, and public affairs, with prior roles in government and international organizations, as well as the non-profit sector.
Prior to joining COL, Dean served as Director of Communications at the Canadian Red Cross, where he led communications strategies to support national and international humanitarian efforts.
Dean holds an MBA in Sustainable Innovation from the University of Victoria and a BA in Political Science from Simon Fraser University. He is professionally affiliated with the International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) and the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC).
