Ms Anne-Marie Scott joined the Commonwealth of Learning (COL) in June 2025 as Vice-President. She is an internationally recognized expert in digital, online, and open education, with over two decades of leadership experience across higher education and the non-profit sector.
Prior to joining COL, Anne-Marie served as Deputy Provost at Athabasca University, Canada’s leading open and distance learning institution. She also held multiple senior roles at the University of Edinburgh in the UK, where she led major digital and open education initiatives.
She holds an MA (Hons) in English and Scottish Literature and a Postgraduate Diploma in E-Learning from the University of Edinburgh. She serves on the Board of the Open Source Initiative and also teaches on critical approaches to educational technology at Royal Roads University in Canada.
