Jamaica’s High Commissioner to Canada visits COL

Her Excellency Janice Miller, High Commissioner for Jamaica to Canada visited COL headquarters today to learn more about COL’s work.

COL President and CEO Professor Asha Kanwar and other colleagues welcomed the High Commissioner and provided an overview of COL’s initiatives and projects, including Lifelong Learning for Farmers (L3F), the Virtual University for Small States of the Commonwealth (VUSSC) and Aptus.

The High Commissioner commended COL for its active and vibrant partnership work in her country which was contributing to the achievement of the SDGs and which aligned with Jamaica’s Vision 2030 National Development Plan. She was particularly interested in L3F for capability enhancement of Jamaican farmers and the linkages that had been made.

COL’s team expressed gratitude to the Government of Jamaica for its ongoing financial support that makes its work possible.

Her Excellency was accompanied by Dr Michael Vaughan, Honorary Consul for Jamaica in British Columbia.
